Eligibility:Available to students enrolled full time at The University of Auckland School of Architecture or at an approved institution overseas and who have paid the fees or have arranged to pay the fees, for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy.
-Applicants will be expected to have a first-class academic record.
-The Scholarship is tenable by students who are New Zealand citizens or permanent residents of New Zealand, who meet the requirements for entry into Doctoral programmes and who are graduates of a professional qualification in architecture from a New Zealand institution situated north of Huntly.
-The basis of selection shall be academic merit. This will be measured on the quality of the research proposal, grade point average and/or Master’s thesis.

Scholarship Description: The William Chick Doctoral Scholarship in Architecture was established in 2002 from the William Chick Scholarship Trust to assist students undertaking a course of study for a professional qualification in the practice of Architecture to undertake postgraduate study. William Chick desired to give students an opportunity to broaden their studies in New Zealand and overseas and be able to bring the knowledge and experience into their practice of architecture in New Zealand.
