Scholarship on Merit cum Need Basis for the students belonging to Minority communities in India -2011

i)Financial assistance will be given to pursue degree and/or post graduate level technical and professional courses from a recognized institution. Maintenance allowance will be credited to the student’s account. The course fee will be paid by the State Department directly to the institute concerned.
ii) Students who get admission to a college to pursue technical/professional courses, on the basis of a competitive examination will be eligible for the scholarship.
iii) Students who get admission in technical/professional courses without facing any competitive examination will also be eligible for scholarship. However, such students should have not less than 50% marks at higher secondary/graduation level. Selection of these students will be done strictly on merit basis.
iv) Continuation of the scholarship in subsequent years will depend on successful completion of the course during the preceding year.
v) A scholarship holder under this scheme will not avail any other scholarship/stipend for pursuing the course. he annual income of the beneficiary/parent or guardian of beneficiary should not exceed Rs.2.50 lakh from all sources.

Scholarship Description: The University has received funding for 2011 for three awards from the The Carnegie Trust for the Universities of Scotland. Under the conditions of the trust, these awards will be offered to Scottish students undertaking either a one year full-time or two year part-time taught postgraduate degree in any subject offered by the University commencing in the 2011/2012 academic session. Each award is worth £3,400 and will be deducted from the tuition fees due. While the most promising candidates will normally have a first-class honours degree or equivalent, this is not essential. The ultimate criteria for the award of a Bursary should be those envisaged by Andrew Carnegie – that the candidate be qualified and deserving, industrious and ambitious and that the candidate would derive particular benefit from a one-year, taught, postgraduate degree which he or she would be unlikely to enjoy without the award.

The Scholarship shall consist of $5,000 per annum and in addition will provide paid project work (at Solnet?s premises in Wellington or Auckland) of between six and eight weeks between the penultimate and final years of study. Applications are invited from students who are currently in their penultimate year (ie second to last year) in the field of Engineering. Please see the scholarship guidelines for more details.

Tempe Mann Annual Travelling Scholarship for Women at The University of Sydney, Australia 2011

Eligibility:
The Scholarship is available to women enrolled as a research masters or doctoral degree student at The University of Sydney, or have a first degree or masters from the University of Sydney and be enrolled for a doctorate at another university within NSW, for the TEMPE MANN TRAVELLING SCHOLARSHIP 2011. Short listed candidates will be required to attend an interview in Sydney in Oct/Nov. The Scholarship is awarded to a woman to undertake a short period of advanced research or course work in any field, at an overseas university or equivalent organisation. Applicants must be Australian citizens or have permanent residency in Australia.

Scholarship Description: The trustees of AFGW-NSW Inc. Education Trust invite applications for the AFGW-NSW Inc Tempe Mann Annual Scholarship to be awarded in 2011 which will be $7,500.00. A second scholarship may be awarded. Conditions of the Award: that the successful candidate agree to acknowledge AFGW-NSW support in any publication (including any thesis) that results from the work undertaken that she provide a report on the conclusion of the project.
