Eligibility:
- First degree in materials science or a related physical science/engineering degree and should have or be close to completing a PhD in a relevant research area or in possession of relevant equivalent qualifications/research experience
- High level analytical capability
- Experience with synchrotron X-ray methods including microtomography, diffraction and spectroscopy
- Experience with electrochemical methods for characterising corrosion processes
- Experience with modelling corrosion systems

Scholarship Open for International Students: No

Scholarship Description: To carry out research into corrosion issues related to nuclear waste storage using synchrotron X-rays and other characterisation and modelling techniques as part of an EPSRC/NDA-funded programme, and to co-ordinate synchrotron experiments and other interactions between the partner institutions and collaborators.
