Eligibility:
South African students who intend to contribute to civil society in South Africa.
Applications are invited from suitable candidates who intend to commence with full-time Master’s and Doctoral studies at the University of Cape Town in 2012.
The Fellowships will be awarded on the basis of academic excellence. The tenure of the award will be for the first and second years of the Master’s degree and for the first, second and third years of the Doctoral degree.

Scholarship Description: The David and Elaine Potter Foundation has established a Fellowship Programme to support excellent South African students who intend to contribute to civil society in South Africa, by leveraging their educational advantage in any discipline. A strong civil society holds national and local government accountable; enhances democratic institutions and the quality of life of its citizens and helps strengthen and sustain economic, civil and legal rights. Any field of study will be considered, whether you are an engineer, an economist, a political scientist or a lawyer. Thoughtful men and women, who are excited by the prospect of helping to lead South Africa into an ever more successful future are invited to apply for these Fellowships.

Bursary for South African Citizens for Undergraduate study at South Africa -2012

Study Subject(s): Commerce (Economics, Business Economics, Accounting, Investments and Finance), Business Science, Science and Mathematics, Engineering and IT or a Commercial LLB

Scholarship can be taken at: South Africa
Eligibility:
- Only applications from South African citizens will be considered.
- The main criteria for the selection of applications is financial need and academic potential.
- Bursary applications are invited from young people who aim to study full time towards an undergraduate university (academic) degree in Commerce (Economics, Business Economics, Accounting, Investments and Finance), Business Science, Science and Mathematics, Engineering and IT or a Commercial LLB.
- Applicants currently in Grade 12 and applicants already in possession of a National Senior certificate should have obtained at least 50% in all their subjects with a minimum of 60% in Mathematics (not Maths Literacy) and 60% in English. Applicants who wrote Matric (Grade 12) prior to 2008 must have obtained a minimum of a C-symbol in both Mathematics (HG) and English (HG).

Scholarship Open for International Students: No

Scholarship Description: Bursaries will only be offered to applicants who are currently in Grade 12 or in their first year of University. Changing your degree after submitting your application form may lead to a cancellation of the bursary. No bursaries are available for private tertiary institutions.
