South African students who intend to contribute to civil society in South Africa.
Applications are invited from suitable candidates who intend to commence with full-time Master’s and Doctoral studies at the University of Cape Town in 2012.
The Fellowships will be awarded on the basis of academic excellence. The tenure of the award will be for the first and second years of the Master’s degree and for the first, second and third years of the Doctoral degree.

Scholarship Description: students pursuing the study of the Holocaust or modern Jewish culture or comparative perspectives on the American and European Jewish experience are particularly welcomed. The School of Arts and Humanities offers Ph.D. degrees in Aesthetic Studies, History of Ideas, and Literary Studies, with each of them emphasizing interdisciplinary study and research. The Holocaust Studies Program in the School of Arts and Humanities is a multi-faceted curriculum, augmented and supported by the Ackerman Center for Holocaust Studies, the Selwyn Belofsky Fellowship in Holocaust Studies, the Burton C. Einspruch Holocaust Lecture Series, the Hillel Feinberg Chair, the Arnold A. Jaffe Holocaust Book Collection, Leah and Paul Lewis Chair of Holocaust Studies, and the Rabin Professorship.Belofsky Fellows receive 12 monthly stipends for a total of $20,000 annually, along with complete remission of all UTD tuition and fees, subject to satisfactory progress

Scholarship Description: To support scholarship in the field of British art and architectural history and to disseminate knowledge through publications, exhibitions and education, the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art offers a variety of fellowships and grants. The Centre’s remit does not cover contemporary fine arts, archaeology, the current practice of architecture or the performing arts. Junior Fellowships in the United Kingdom (based at the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art in London) or in the United States (based at the Yale Center for British Art in New Haven) are offered to scholars already engaged in doctoral research on British art or architectural history.
