Scholarship Description: Our group consists of an interdisciplinary team with expertise in biology, biochemistry, bioinformatics and medicine.Therefore we provide an excellent working environment, comprising many lab-specific datasets for analysis and the possibility to participate in the design of future experiments. We study the molecular mechanism underlying the cardiac developmental process and its aberration in human (congenital heart disease). A particular focus is on the process of gene transcription, its regulation and phenotypic consequence. The heart, cardiac and skeletal muscle cells represent our model systems employing animal models, patient material and cell culture.

Scholarship Description: In 1996, the Medical Faculty of the University of Hong Kong received a generous donation from Dr Cheng Yu Tung to establish the Dr Cheng Yu Tung Fellowships.
